“Your diet is a bank account. Good food choices are good investments” said Bethenny Frankel.

We often have a table full of skin care products and are religious in our applications, with the hope they’d work wonders; whilst neglecting the importance of maintaining a healthy and balanced diet.

We are what we eat - what we eat can affect our hormone balances, appearance of our hair and nails, create or cause inflammation and etc. It takes two hands to clap - what we consume are just as important as the serums and face creams we apply.

OMEGA-3

DHA, EPA and ALA - are the Omega 3 fatty acids we are familiar with. Mackerel, Salmon and Shad are the top three omega-3 fatty acid rich sources of DHA and EPA; whilst ALA, found in plant based food sources, can be derived the most from Flaxseed, Chia Seeds and English Walnuts.

So why Omega-3? Omega-3 fatty acids are actually essential for the human body but our body is unable to produce these acids. The only way we can have Omega-3 intake is through the food we eat. Other than its benefits to prevent cancer, fight inflammation, improve bone health and etc; Omega-3 is also a great way for preventing premature aging, acne as well as skin dehydration.

An alternative to ensuring that you eat fatty fish at least 2 times per week is consuming supplements like the Perricone MD's Omega 3 Supplement. Supplements are a good way to make sure your body is getting its optimal omega-3 intake. The softgel capsules are convenient for everyday intake and furthermore, these capsules does not have a fishy smell!

Evening Primrose Oil

Evening Primrose is a plant which grows in temperate climates and has yellow flowers which bloom only once a day and at night. The entire plant is edible and its flowers and seeds are harvested to extract oils.

Evening Primrose Oil has been applauded for its amazing healing properties at containing higher concentration levels of Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA) than other plants. GLA is absent in our bodies but essential for cell structure, skin elasticity, regulation of hormones as well as improvement of nerve functions. Due to this essential polyunsaturated fatty acid, GLA, present, Evening Primrose Oil is being studied as the treatment for aging problems, heart disease, PMS, eczema and etc.

Add Myvitamins Evening Primrose Oil to your supplement intake - this is a bottle of premium quality soft gel containing 1000mg of Evening Primrose Oil and providing 90mg GLA and 10mg of Vitamin E.

The formula adds Vitamin E, an antioxidant, which provides further protection for the body against oxidative stress.

Probiotics

This one is for working adults, students or anybody who’s leading busy schedules causing irregular meal times and long periods of sitting. Adding to that, our high-stress environment and overkill of processed meals and chemicals in our food all can lead to digestive problems.

We might not know it - other than bloating, constipation or heartburn, signs like bad breath, “food coma” symptoms, brittle nails or acne are also telltale signs of an unhealthy  intestinal health.

That’s where probiotics come in - they are good bacteria that help control the friendly and unfriendly bacteria levels in your gut. There are about 100 trillion microorganisms in our gut and about 400 different species of bacteria in our gastrointestinal system and make up more than 75% of our immune system[1].

Probiotics supplements like the KIKI HEALTH BODY BIOTICS TABLETS (30 CAPSULES) contain beneficial strains of probiotics - a tablet a day, 30 minutes before your meal, will have you be on your way to better health!

The KIKI HEALTH BODY BIOTICS TABLETS (30 CAPSULES) has 8 super strains of friendly bacteria which are said to provide the benefits like  improvement of digestive and immune health, inhibition of cancer cells, lowering of cholesterol levels and reduction of anxiety.

Glucosamine

People know this as the supplement to strengthen your joints and weak knees. Glucosamine is also an active ingredient that contributes to the building structure of Hyaluronic Acid and Collagen, important components of our skin which are responsible for  hydration and youthness.

Glucosamine is unfortunately not available in significant amounts in the food we eat, hence supplements are needed to keep deficiency in this lubricant away.

Murad's Youth Builder Dietary Supplement is part of Murad's Internal Skincare range and seems to promote younger looking skin. It is fortified with glucosamine and Amino Acid complex that may contribute in reducing the appearance in fine lines and wrinkles.
